Storing
fat can be a genetic inheritance or a bad eating habit. In Adryanna's case
it was both. She started putting on weight when she was a teenager. Being
a ballet dancer, she always tried to keep herself on a diet to avoid
getting heavy on her classical dancing shoes.
She kept herself on a good weight until she was 17, when she got her
ballet diploma. Then, she started working as an English teacher from
morning to evening and got into University in the evening period, studying
from 19:00 pm to 23:00 pm.
She did not have time enough neither place to eat healthily at school and
University cafeteria.
Putting on a lot of weight was a result of irregular physical activity and
bad eating.
Depressed, Adryanna ate some chocolate bars to " comfort " herself.
"I was happy with my professional career but my personal life was a mess"
she recalls.
From 72 kilos she went to 120 kilos and had kept that for 2 and a half
years. Desperate, she decided to do something good for herself and live
her life the way she really wanted and even rescue that LOVE she has
always had for dancing.
She started a treatment on a clinic and got some enzime injections on the
skin where there was fat storage. She decreased her working hours to have
more quality of life in her free time and started learning some latin
dancing styles and belly dance.
The results were amazing, in 12 months she lost 50 kilos and did not lose
her muscles or got too flabby due to dancing. Happy with her 67 kilos, she
started living her life again and teaching Belly Dance on the weekends.
However, changing habits takes time and dicipline, Adryanna got some
problems in keeping a good eating plan alone and manage her anxiety and
emotions off from the food. With her stressing life style of living in São
Paulo and keeping up three jobs, she put on 15 kilos.
Desperate, she looked for some positive eating rehabilitation program
called Meta Real (a kind of weight watchers in Brazil). There, she
followed the plan for one year and lost the extra kilos that she wanted,
eating everything. Nothing was forbidden, she just learned about the
importance of chewing the food, reasonable quantities, eating when she had
physical hunger and controlling the emotions off the food.
Adryanna
incorporated the method so well that she wanted to become one of the
monitors at Meta Real to help other people who have eating disorder. In
the middle of her studies at Meta Real, her Norwegian boyfriend proposed
to her. She moved to Norway and got married.
Norwegian food has a lot of fat, sweets, cakes and fatty meat like pork
and sausages. She put on 7 kilos and had to learn how to choose light and
healthy products at the supermarket.
"In Brazil you can find light version of everything you buy at the
supermarkets, even sweets, pudins and cakes. Here, there aren`t many diet
or light products. Sticking to fish, chicken, vegetables and fruits made
me control my weight a little bit . However I am willing to lose some
more, I am NOT in a hurry at all, by the way it is a horrible mistake
wanting to lose more than 5 kilos in a month. It is really unhealthy, the
natural way of losing weight is from 3 to 4 kilos per month. "
The most important thing that everybody MUST understand is that there is
absolutely NO body pattern for dancing. This was created by the MEDIA and
poisoned 96% of the world population. We must accept the body shape we
have and nurture it and take GOOD care of it in a peaceful, positive and
healthy way. Everybody is unique and different from eachother, this is
what makes it so special and fascinating. Accepting yourself the way you
are and learning about the things you like to do is so prescious and MUST
be a priority in your life.

Hydrate
your skin and body from inside out drinking plenty of water. 8 glasses
of water per day is the minimum requirement.
Chew the food you eat until it becomes creamy in your mouth, try to
chew each bite 20 times.
Taste
and enjoy what you eat, have your meals in a quiet and calm place
with no tv around.
Eat only one plate, mixing vegetables, meat, carbs (choose from: boiled
or baked potato, rice, pasta with tomato sauce, whole wheat bread)
and fruit as a dessert if you wish.
Eat
three complete meals a day. If you get hungry between meals eat baby
carrots or a toast with light cheese and decaf tea or yoghurt or a
fruit smoothie.
Only
2 cups of coffee a day (maximun).
Grill or bake the meat.
White meat is a good choice for 4 days of the week.
Eat eggs, beans or lentils 2 a week.
Make sure your calcium (all dairy products) intake is more than 5
times a week.
Eat sweets, cake, junk food and ONCE a month with MODERATION.
Drink 2 glasses of wine or a pint of beer on the weekends.
Live your life happily!
